BEFIT INTRODUCING

I spent my weekend in the Business Design centre in Islington eating a dozen protein bars and raw concoctions, guzzling down blitzed superfoods and gobbling endless spoonfuls of yoghurt, sitting down at three (yes, there were three) massage tech stations for waaaay too long...and more than once... (I know this - and so did the staff - as a few times the representatives asked me whether I was 'actually' going to buy one and another said, with a very condemning tone: "you already know how to use this" ) and ogling at olympic swimmers...those eyes...and that handsome rugged face...muscles... anyway... 'Why were you there? ' you may be wondering, or in fact you're probably thinking: 'hot men and lots of food sounds like my kinda place, how do I go there too?'

This weekend was the second year running of the first, and only, UK women's fitness festival; BeFit.  Imagine loads of health products, lots of stylish functional sportswear, and the latest fitness tech gadgets, and classes all under one roof; basically everything health and fitness.

For those of you who didn't go, luckily for you, I did... here's the dish on BeFit's brands to watch out and check out.

Yoogaia:

Is the yoga class at your gym ALWAYS fully booked? Even when you get in the class people que at door earlier than a gig and you end up with your mat on the wall to get a space. Or can you go one week but can't make next week's class? Meet Yoogaia, yours (and my), solution to master the art of yoga. Yoogaia is the first online interactive yoga/Pilates/barre class. You can join in on live sessions or watch a recorded one. You can train whenever and wherever. No excuses!

Coconut jam is totally a thing.  Coconut Merchant have whizzed up coconut sugar and coconut oil to create a jam. Before you ask, it tastes like fig and dates with hint of caramel.

Simplee aloe have managed to make aloe vera juice yummy. This renowned magical healing plant has heaps of benefits and it's now available in a little carton of juice mixed with lemon and grape. Here's a list of aloe vera's amazing powers.

BG Epic training:

Bear Grylls has a gym class, yep, that guy on telly who shows you how to survive in wild; the guy who will eat anything and everything (including his own urine and water from elephant poo), the guy who can make a bow and arrow from bamboo and shoot a piranha with it, the guy who can make a fire with his own hands... Sounding familiar? He is the most bad-ass survivalist who kicks natures ass. But, don't worry, you won't be doing any of that stuff in the class. BG's  is all about functionally movement and primal bodyweight training.

Nakd sweets:

Nakd nibbles: You may recognise Nakd bars as those little raw fruit bars you can buy everywhere... 'Cashew cookie,' 'gingerbread'... then they stepped it up a notch with a Christmas pudding flavour and a cherry bakewell... And now, they've made little raw bites in naughty sweet shop flavours like mint humbug, salted caramel, fruit salad, and strawberries and cream.

- for the nut butter addicts, Meridian have enhanced their portable nut butter bars with a new range; chocolate, banana and berry.

BLK water:

Move over coconut and birch water, meet BLK water; an all natural alkaline, mineral water full of electrolytes and goodness in fruit flavours without any sugar, carbs or calories.
