Following my last post on motivation a few days later I was shown a new app by Eric Thomas - Hip hop motivation. Why have I not heard of this guy before? He failed education and spent his life homeless on the streets of Detroit and now he is one of the most sought out motivational speakers in the world.
Above is one of the pictures he used in a video on his Youtube Channel to stress the importance of not giving up. The guy at the bottom spent years trying to find diamonds and. at the last hurdle he gave up when success was just one hit away. Don't give up - don't waste all the time you've spent.
Here's some amazing pointers and truths I
found from Eric Thomas, ETinspires site, videos and his book.
"A setback is a setup for a comeback."
"The will to succeed is important but the will to prepare is just
as important"
"You got apps that can teach you Spanish for free and you're
playing video games? You're getting beat!"
"Everyone thinks of changing the
world, but no one thinks of changing himself." - Leo Tolstoy
"A year from now you may wish you had started
today."- Karen Lamb
"Never underestimate the importance of the
beginning. The beginning has the seeds of everything else to come. "
"No alarm clock is needed, my passion wakes
me."
"You cannot afford to live in potential for the rest of your life;
at some point you have to unleash the potential and make your
journey."
"“But if I start now, it won’t be
like I envisioned it.” So? Too often, we want everything that leaves our
hands to be perfect as soon as it touches open air. The problem with
that is that things almost never go completely as planned. So what do you
do? Do you just sit down and never do anything? As a matter of fact,
moving on your imperfect task can show you later how to perfect it. It may
provide you with the knowledge necessary to fix the flaws. "
“Confidence isn’t something that happens TO you,
it’s something you CHOOSE!... Instead of falling victim to
poor results, rise-up to the challenge of improvement. Choose opportunity over
negativity, confidence over lack. Belief isn’t a result, it’s a conscious,
deliberate act!" –
Coach Dayne
Gary Keller, real estate
entrepreneur and author of The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind
Extraordinary Results (and
a few other best sellers), suggests that greatness doesn’t come from
people trying to do many things well but from people taking uninterrupted
time out to focus on one thing.
“Just cause
you failed doesn’t make you a failure. Just cause you lost doesn’t make you a
loser.”
“Success
demands that you take risks.”
“If you
keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got. You’ve gotta do something different if you
want something different.”
