I am sold by anything fitness related. ANYTHING. All you have to do is put the word fitness on a product and you have my attention.
I was given a tube of Pretty Athletic's Nourishing Body Moisturiser from a friend. Pretty Athletic are one of the first UK skincare brands dedicated solely to active women. I remember swimming in school and using funky smelling sunny orange L'Oreal swim shampoo but, I never thought about these types of products for active women - from runners to weight-lifters, to team sport players and yogis. The brand was created by Leyla Cooper, an ex-lawyer, avid gym goer and beauty enthusiast who sought to find a product that would support her skin in her pre and post work and lunch time gym ventures. Each products aim to is to soothe, cool down and re-hydrate the skin.
The range currently includes:
Cool Down Purifying Facial Cleanser £16.50 Rich gel cleanser that soothes and helps to prevent post-exercise breakouts with cucumber, chamomile, aloe vera and lavender.
Perfect Balance Calming Facial Moisturiser £22 Lightweight formula with aloe vera and menthol to soothe and calm, witch hazel to control sweat, and rosehip oil and borage seed oil to rehydrate.
Hydrating Shield Intensive Moisture Balm £20 Creates a lightweight, hydrating & protective film on the skin with shea butter, cocoa butter and rosehip oil.
Radiant Health Nourishing Body Moisturiser £18 Replenishes, hydrates and soothes from top to toe, with omega fatty acids, grape seed oil, aloe vera, vitamins and minerals.
Instant Refresh Exfoliating Shower Gel £12.50 Revives and soothes with menthol and lemon balm, and exfoliates with jojoba microspheres.
The packing is feminine and perfect for any gym bunny's bag. What I love the most is they're all packed with nourishing natural elements; like aloe vera and rosehip, and the cream does exactly what it promises - it soothes and hydrates. Many people spend so much time and effort working out and eating well to feel great and look good but, a lot of us forget about the little things like nails, hair-care and skincare - all which can be damaged through sweat and exercise.
